Gabrielle Brixey takes the reins at her alma mater as she enters her first season as West Hills College Coalinga’s Head Softball Coach. Prior to arrival at West Hills, Brixey served as the head coach at Taft College for the past five seasons (2017-2022). Before her five seasons at Taft, Brixey was an assistant coach at West Hills College for four seasons (2013-2017).

Brixey, who was recently inducted into the West Hills College Coalinga Athletic Hall of Fame (2021) was a student-athlete at West Hills, playing softball 2008-2010, earning first-team all-conference honors as an outfielder both years. After graduating from West Hills College, Brixey closed out her playing career at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While at Lesley University, Brixey helped lead the Lynx to two NECC Conference Championships and two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances. She was a two-time first team All-NECC outfielder, was names to the 2012 NFCA All-New England third-team and was a 2012 NEISCA Honorable Mention All-Star selection.
