Cuello scores 22 points in loss to No. 5 Fresno City

West Hills College Coalinga freshman Fredery Cuello scored a game-high 22 points but No. 5 Fresno City College got off to a big halftime lead before defeating the home Falcons by a final score of 103-61 on Wednesday in a Central Valley Conference game.

CVC-leading Fresno (14-3, 3-0 CVC) took advantage of 29 West Hills turnovers and outrebounded the Falcons by a 42-29 margin in the contest. The Rams held a 54-28 advantage at halftime before cruising to the win.

Cuello provided most of the offense for the Falcons tonight as he was the lone individual to score in double digits. He also grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds.

BenQuon Elder contributed 9 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds off the bench while Trevon Perry (6 steals) and J'Lens Sims both scored 8 points.

The loss dropped West Hills to 0-17 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Falcons will look to get into the win column when they return to action on Saturday (Jan. 18) at 6 p.m. when they host Merced College in a Central Valley Conference game.
