Slow start dooms Falcons in loss at Reedley

West Hills College Coalinga freshman Tyrell Edwards led the Falcons with 18 points and 7 rebounds in a 91-73 loss at Reedley College on Saturday.

The Falcons fell behind early and couldn't recover. They trailed 42-29 at halftime before putting up 44 points in the second half. But the deficit was too much to overcome.

Edwards did his best to provide a spark off the bench. He nailed a pair of three pointers and grabbed 4 offensive rebounds. Trevin Levy had a good game with 17 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals while J'Lens Smis added 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Fredery Cuello chipped in with 9 points and Derrick Barnes dished out a team-high 6 assists.

West Hills fell to 0-16 overall and 0-2 in the CVC with the conference loss. The Falcons return to the court on Wednesday (Jan. 15) when they host conference-leading and No. 10 state-ranked Fresno City College at 6 p.m.
