Slow start leads to 83-54 West Hills loss at Skyline

Freshman Trevon Perry scored a team-high 18 points off the bench, but West Hills College Coalinga stumbled out of the gate at Skyline College and suffered an 83-54 loss on Thursday.

The Falcons scored just 14 points in the first half and trailed by 26 points (40-14) at the break. West Hills recovered in the second on its way to 40 points over the final 20 minutes of the game, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

West Hills made just 17 of 61 shots in the contest. Perry shot 50 percent (6 for 12) from the field to lead the offense. He added 4 steals and a pair of rebounds.

BenQuon Elder, Tyrell Edwards, and J'Lens Sims all scored 7 points each.

The loss dropped West Hills to 0-6 overall. The Falcons return to action on Saturday (Nov. 23) at 4 p.m. when they travel to College of San Mateo for a non-conference game.
