Arredondo & Ingle Ignite Falcon's Offense; West Hills Pounds Out 16 Hits in 12-6 Win vs. Porterville

West Hills College hosted Porterville College on Tuesday to finish their 4 game series, as Jacob Evangelo started for the Falcons. After giving up 3 runs in the first two innings, the Falcon's offense erupted for 7 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 8-3 lead. Cristian Arredondo led off the inning with a double to right, and was quickly plated by a RBI single by Scotty Ingle. After a groundout advanced Ingle to 2nd, the Falcons had 3 consectutive two out singles by Evan Walter, Torin Miller, and Jake Lorenzini, which loaded the bases for Brandon Barker. Barker crushed a double down the left field line, scoring all three Falcon base runners. After a walk and an error, Barker had scored making the score 8-3. Porterville added a run in their half of the 4th, and the score remained 8-4 until the bottom of the 5th. Barker led off the inning with a walk, and advanced to 2nd on a single by Arredondo. Scotty Ingle added another RBI single, which plated Barker. After an error loaded the bases, Alante Uribe hit a sacrifice fly, which scored Arredondo making the score 10-4. Porterville got as close as 10-6 in the 7th inning, but the Falcons put it away in the 8th as Evan Walter led off the inning with a single, followed by an opposite field double by Torin Miller. Jake Lorenzini doubled to the left field fence, scoring both Walter and pinch runner Austin Trinidad, putting the Falcons ahead 12-6. 

Jacob Evangelo got the win, as he went 5 innings giving up 4 runs and striking out 7. Cristian Arredondo went 4 for 5 with two runs scored, and both Evan Walter and Scotty Ingle had 3 hits apiece. Five Falcon hitters had two or more hits. West Hills College will travel to College of Sequoias on Saturday to play at 1pm, and will host Taft College on Sunday in Coalinga at 1pm.
