Brown, Farkas, Redfeairn, Silva named Student-Athletes of the Month

West Hills College Coalinga is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Month for April: Brody Brown of Baseball, Makayla Farkas and Owen Redfeairn from the Rodeo team, as well as Emma Silva of Softball!

Brody Brown
Brody was the definition of consistency in the month of April.  The sophomore catcher hit .395 (17 for 43) as well as adding a .409 OBP, 8 RBIs, 3 doubles, and scored 13 runs for the Falcons.  Brody was solid behind the dish and threw out 57 percent of would-be base stealers (4 of 7).

Makayla Farkas
Makayla competes in two events: Break-away and Goat-tying. In both, she is sitting in the top-15 in the West Coast Region and is consistently earning points for the West Hills women's team.  Makayla earned a 3.86 GPA last fall and is on track to finish spring in similar fashion.

Owen Redfeairn
Owen competes in three events: Team roping, Tie-down roping, and Steer Wrestling.  He is currently sitting in the top-10 in two of his events for the West Coast Region and is consistently earning points for the West Hills men's team that is currently sitting in sixth place for the Men's All-around of the NIRA West Coast Region.  Owen earned a 4.06 GPA last semester and is academically holding steady for spring.

Emma Silva
Emma finished of the month of April strong in the circle.  She broke the single-season strike out record for the West Hills Falcon Softball program.  She has taken a heavy academic load and her hard work is paying off in the classroom.  Emma signed her letter of intent to play at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, closing off her stellar sophomore season.
