Ojeda / Cazares / Aw / Dewey, Falcons of the Week

West Hills College Coalinga would like to congratulate its Student-Athletes of the Week: Denae Ojeda from softball, Carlos Cazares of baseball, Ahmadou Aw from men’s basketball, and Jase Dewey of the rodeo team!

Denae Ojeda, Softball, #2, Outfield
A 2022 graduate from Coalinga High School, Denae is a Kinesiology major managing the balance between her educational & athletic goals.  Denae was a key component to our defense and made outstanding plays on the field.

Carlos Cazares, Baseball, #2, Pitcher
A 2022 graduate of Los Banos High School, Carlos is a second-year freshman coming back strong from an early season ending injury last spring.  He gave 6 quality innings of relief at Sacramento City keeping the Falcons within striking distance by allowing only 1 hit, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts and 0 runs.

Ahmadou Aw, Men’s Basketball, #11, Forward
A 2022 graduate of Rock Creek Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro Maryland.  Dou was great last week against Porterville and Reedley Colleges scoring a combined 43 points with 17 rebounds.  Dou continues to be a bright spot for the Falcons this season.

Jase Dewey, Rodeo
Jase, a first-year student athlete from Riverdale High School, is a longtime tie down and team roper that has been learning the skills of saddle bronc to which he is almost ready for competition.  Earning a 4.0 GPA last fall, Jase show great leadership in not only the classroom but also by volunteering his time at high school rodeo by prepping the grounds and organizing the livestock.
