Falcons earn 11 All-Golden Coast League honors

Following the close of the 2023 West Hills College Coalinga football season, 11 Falcons were honored with All-Golden Coast League postseason awards.

Named first-team All-Golden Coast League on offense were sophomore offensive lineman Joseph Star, sophomore wide receiver Brandon Tryon, and sophomore wide receiver KJ Ford.

Star and Tryon were unanimous selections by league coaches and will receive top consideration for all-state and all-region voting in two weeks.

First team honors on defense went to freshman defensive lineman Derayl Helton, sophomore linebacker Darrise Bridgett, and freshman defensive back Darrell Tripline Jr.

Named All-Golden Coast League Honorable Mention were sophomore defensive back Maleik Bradford, freshman defensive back Xavier Cannaday, sophomore linebacker Darius Doze, sophomore defensive lineman Jermaine Harris, and sophomore offensive lineman Caleb Orcutt.

WHCC recently closed out the 2023 regular season on a positive note, winning its final two contests, including a 54-7 rout at Gavilan College on Saturday. Under head coach Justin Berna, the Falcons went .500 this season, posting a 5-5 overall record.
