Falcons suffer 30-6 loss at San Jose City

SAN JOSE – Turnovers proved costly for West Hills College Coalinga in its 30-6 loss at Golden Coast League-leading San Jose City College on Saturday.

The San Jose defense came away with 3 interceptions and the Falcons' offense couldn't get much going as it totaled 218 yards. After starting the season with a 3-1 record, West Hills has now lost four straight to drop to 3-5 overall as well as 0-4 in in the Golden Coast League.

The Falcons' lone score came late in the third quarter. Quarterback Jett Garcia's 9-yard touchdown run capped an 8-play, 62-yard drive that cut the Jaguars' lead to 23-6 at the 2:11 mark.

Garcia completed 11 of 21 passes for 99 yards. KJ Ford had a solid day with 10 receptions for 78 yards.

On defense, Maleik Bradford led with 7 tackles while Derrick Taylor, Darrise Bridgett, Jermaine Harris, Terrell Eackles, and Kirsten Williams were all in on sacks.

The Falcons return to action next Saturday (Nov. 11) when they host Merced College in their final home game of the season. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
