West Hills College Coalinga football head coach Justin Berna has announced the Falcons' upcoming 2023 season schedule.

The defending Golden Coast League champions officially kick off the fall season against a familiar foe. The Falcons will begin the year on the road at Foothill College on Saturday, Sep. 2 with a 6 p.m. start. The two squads met last season to close out 2022 in the Silicon Valley Bowl.

Falcon fans will get their first chance to cheer on the home team when West Hills makes its debut at Memorial Stadium the following Saturday on Sep. 9 against Los Medanos College. That game is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

The Falcons close out their non-conference schedule against College of the Siskiyous at home on Sep. 30 before opening Golden Valley League play at home vs. Monterey Peninsula on Oct. 7. WHCC also hosts Cabrillo College (Oct. 23) and Merced College (Nov. 11) and wraps up the regular season schedule at Gavilan College on Nov. 18.

Last season, West Hills closed out 2022 with a 6-5 overall record while going an impressive 5-1 in Golden Valley League action to earn a share of the title. The Falcons returned to the postseason for the first time since 2016 by earning a bowl invitation to the Silicon Valley Bowl.
