Falcons' Gordon named NCFC Offensive Player of the Week

West Hills College Coalinga sophomomore running back Vondarious Gordon was named the Northern California Football Conference (NCFC) American Division Offensive Player of the Week for his huge game last Saturday at Los Medanos College.

Gordon, originally out of North Chicago High School in Chicago, Ill., scored three touchdowns and had 188 yards on 26 carries to help lead West Hills to a thrilling 42-41 victory.

Head coach Justin Berna has been impressed with his running back's play so far.

"Von is playing great this season, running the ball with great vision and power," said Berna. "He's also is doing great in the pass game in protection and receiving the ball. He has been a leader on and off the field and has continually improved since camp began."

The Falcons are back in action at home this Saturday (Sep. 17) when they host College of the Redwoods at 1 p.m.
