The Coalinga College women's volleyball team is headed back to the postseason for the second straight year. On Thursday, the Falcons were named the No. 11 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. Postseason brackets were announced by the 3C2A for the both the north and south regions.

As a top-12 seed, Coalinga received an opening-round bye and will travel to No. 6 Feather River College in Quincy for a second-round match on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m.

Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason match are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

For Falcon fans unable to make the nearly six-hour drive north, the match will be broadcast live online for free by Feather River College Athletics.

Coalinga has reached the playoffs in back-to-back seasons under head coach Jeff Wanderer. The Falcons enter Tuesday's postseason matchup with a 21-7 overall record and finished fourth in the Central Valley Conference with a 10-6 mark. Coalinga has won six of its last seven matches.

Last season, the No. 11-seeded Falcons pushed No. 6 Lassen College to a five sets but lost the second-round match 3-2.

Feather River enters the postseason with a 26-7 overall record. The Golden Eagles were champions of the Golden Valley Conference with a perfect 10-0 record.  They enter Tuesday's contest riding a seven-match winning streak.

Tuesday will mark the first meeting of the season between the two squads. The winner of the contest will advance to a third-round match on Nov. 30. Two wins are needed by the Falcons to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 6-8 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
