Falcons fall short in triple-overtime vs. Hartnell

COALINGA – Freshman Jarmarian Harper had an impressive Coalinga College debut as he totaled 25 points and 8 assists for the Falcons in a marathon 102-98 loss that needed three overtime periods to decide a winner.

Coalinga held a slim 34-32 lead at halftime but Hartnell outscored the Falcons 36-34 to force overtime. The two squads matched each other with 9 and 11 points during the first two OT periods before the Panthers won the final overtime 14-10 to pull out the win.

The Falcons got solid efforts from throughout the lineup. Corian Taylor posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Donovan and Deandre Johnson both poured in 13 point while Timonthy Flemming added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Isaiah Harper totaled 9 points and 7 boards and Serious Sykes contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds.

Coalinga, now 0-1, is back in action on Tuesday (Nov. 5) when the Falcons host Cuesta College in a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
