Coalinga College announces February Student-Athletes of the Month

Coalinga College has named Jaydian Chavira from baseball, brothers Donovan and Deandre Johnson of men's basketball, and Bryton Loflin from the softball team its Student-Athletes of the Month for February.

#26 Jaydian Chavira—Freshman Pitcher from Madera High School
The standout Freshman from Madera High School has been dominating on the field with 18 innings pitched, a stellar 1.50 ERA, and only 2 walks allowed.

Off the field, Jaydian shines just as brightly—an exceptional leader on campus and a business major with an impressive 3.84 GPA.

#3 Donovan and #4 Deandre Johnson—Sophomore Guards from Lemoore High School
Both athletes have demonstrated exceptional dedication, work ethic, and sportsmanship, setting the standard for their teammates. Their commitment to excellence shines not only in their game performances but also in their leadership during practice and positive influence in the classroom.

Beyond athletics, Deandre and Donovan embody what it means to be student-athletes. They maintain strong academic standing, serve as role models in the school community, and consistently go above and beyond to represent our program with pride and integrity.

#13 Bryton Loflin—Freshman 1st base from Monache High School in Porterville
Bryton has been a powerhouse on the field and in the classroom during the month of February. Starting in 10 games, she has been a key contributor to the offense, posting an impressive .452 batting average with 20 RBIs, 3 home runs, 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 6 walks, all while not striking out once. Her discipline at the plate and ability to produce in clutch moments have made her a standout performer.

Off the field, she continues to excel academically, proving her dedication as a student-athlete. As a freshman, Bryton is already making a significant impact, setting the standard for success.
