Coalinga College would like to congratulate its Student-Athletes of the Week, Michael Frost from the Rodeo team, Ayana Lopez of softball, and baseball standout Kota Watanabe!

Michael Frost – Sophomore from Fillmore High School in Fillmore, CA
Michael exemplifies hard work and focus, consistently setting and achieving individual goals. His dedication to breaking things down and improving both his horses and he have greatly elevated their roping skills. Michael goes above and beyond to support the team, always willing to step up and get things done. His commitment and leadership make him an invaluable part of our program.

#24 Ayana Lopez – Sophomore Corner from Centennial High School in Bakersfield
Ayana closed out her Coalinga career with a solid final week of the 2025 season. Over three games, she compiled a .555 batting average with 5 hits, 3 doubles, 3 RBI, and a pair of stolen bases. Her leadership and contributions to the softball program will be greatly missed.

#18 Kota Watanabe – Freshman Pitcher from Tochigi High School in Japan
Kota took mound for the Falcons and control of the game from the very start, Kota put up a fantastic stat line pitching 8 innings giving up 7 hits 1 run a single walk and 4 strikeouts leading the Falcons to a spectacular win over the Giants of COS.
