Coalinga College would like to congratulate its Student-Athletes of the Week, Jaydian Chavira from the baseball team and Donovan Johnson of men’s basketball!

#26 Jaydian Chavira—Freshman Pitcher from Madera High School
As a freshman right-handed pitcher (RHP), Jaydian showcased outstanding skills on the mound during his outing against DeAnza College. Over the course of 4.2 innings, he demonstrated remarkable control, surrendering only 1 earned run, recording 3 strikeouts, and walking just 1 hitter.  His dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship are an inspiration to his teammates and the community.

#3 Donovan Johnson—Sophomore Guard from Lemoore High School
Congratulations to Donovan for being recognized as Student of the Week! His performance on the court—averaging 8 points per game and shooting 40% from three-point range—demonstrates not just skill but also consistency and determination. What makes him even more impressive is his excellence in the classroom and his leadership abilities. Donovan’s ability to balance academics and athletics while inspiring those around him truly sets him apart. His dedication and hard work serve as an incredible example for his peers.
