FRESNO --- The 2021-22 West Hills College Coalinga men's basketball season came to a close following the Falcons' 96-91 loss at Fresno City College on Wednesday night.
The Falcons trailed by 10 points at halftime, 57-47, and couldn't erase the deficit despite outscoring the Rams 44-39 in the second.
Sophomore Jabari Merritt closed out his West Hills career with an impressive effort, posting a triple-double. He led the Falcons with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Merritt ended the season ranked fourth in the conference in scoring at 18.1 points per game and was second in rebounding at 11.1 RPG. He was one of just two players in the CVC to average a double-double this year.
Fredery Cuello put up a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and added 6 assists against FCC. The Falcons also got double-digit scoring from Khamron Miles (18 points) and Tyrell Edwards (16 points).
West Hills ended the season with a 9-19 overall record and finished seventh in the final Central Valley Conference standings at 4-10.
