VISALIA --- Jabari Merritt totaled a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead West Hills College Coalinga in an 89-58 Central Valley Conference loss at No. 8 state-ranked College of the Sequoias on Saturday.
West Hills trailed 44-23 at halftime to Sequoias (17-4, 6-1 CVC) and couldn't erase the 21-point deficit.
Merritt added 4 steals and 4 assists to his big game. Derrick Barnes ands Fredery Cuello both scored 11 points each while Khamron Miles chipped in with 7 points and 5 rebounds.
The Falcons fell to 6-12 overall and 1-3 in conference play. They'll look to snap a three-game skid on Monday (Jan. 31) when they host Reedley College in a 5 p.m. CVC game.
