On Tuesday, the Coalinga College softball program honored its six sophomores in their final home games.
Prior to a Central Valley Conference doubleheader against Taft College, the Falcons thanked and recognized infielder Ayana Lopez, outfielder Susana Gonzalez, 1B/DP Savanna Stoval, outfielder Lupita Romero, and catcher Natalie Molina.
Coalinga lost both games of the doubleheader to Taft, falling 7-3 in Game 1 and 11-7 in the finale. Lopez went 2 for 3 in the opener with a pair of doubles and an RBI.
Game 2 saw the Falcons get offensive as they totaled 14 hits. Lopez added three more hits, a double, and 2 RBI while Alex McDanell (3 for 4, 2B), Bryton Loflin (3 for 3, 2 RBI), Esme Zuniga Romero (2 for 4, 2 RBI), and Breanna Cisneros (2 for 3) all had big games at the plate.
The Falcons moved to 10-24 overall and 2-12 in Central Valley Conference play prior to their season finale at Fresno City College on Wednesday (Apr. 23).
