Freshman J'Lens Sims came off the bench to score a team-high 17 points but West Hills College Coalinga couldn't overcome a rough night shooting and suffered a 94-60 loss at home to visiting College of the Sequoias on Saturday.
The Falcons made just 22 of 72 shots (31 percent) for the game and were outrebounded by a 54-26 margin. COS took a commanding 46-28 lead at halftime and went on to shoot 58 percent from the field while making 15 three-pointers.
Sims made 5 three-pointers on his way to 17 points. Fredery Cuello had a good game with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists while Trevon Perry added 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The loss dropped West Hills to 0-22 overall and 0-8 in Central Valley Conference play. The Falcons return to the court on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at 6 p.m. in search of their first win at home against Reedley College. West Hills will also hold its annual Coaches vs. Cancer event that night as well.
